The Sounds of Wall-E

This project was completed by Matthew Serafini and Quentin Shomaker

Alien Sound
This is a personal noise. I made it by pushing air in one of my checks through my teeth. It is a unique new. This noise is of aliens talking or maybe just noises they would make. It would not be a friendly alien’s noise. It is very creepy and unlike anything else.

Clicking
This is the sound of a futuristic keyboard. I used my headphones and shook them in front of the microphone to create it.

Construction
Taking off the lid of the water bottle and inhaling creates this type if noise. This noise would work well for anything that when it is finished moving and it gets locked into place. The sound of the object getting locked into place is when this noise would come into play. The end of a sliding door. Putting in a car and it locking.

Creaking
This sound was made by leaning forward and backward in my desk chair. It’s the sound of an old robot or machine working.

Duct Tape Tentacle
This sound was made by unraveling duct tape. The first two noises where hard pulls of duck tap. The last sounds were gently pulled. This noise resembles tentacles releasing of something. The noise itself just sounds sticky.

Fan
Putting a hacky-sack into a large bowl and shaking it in a circular formation created this sound. It’s the sound of a fan in a robot.

Hydraulics
Squeezing a water bottle that won’t spill creates this noise. This noise could be used for a syfy construction scene. I imagine a machine shooting in nails and this is the noise of the tool the machine is using. It has a hard hydraulic noise.

Ray Gun
This sound is made by me making a high pitch whistle. I push air between my teeth. This is the perfect ray gun noise. The noise starts off loud and dissipates quickly to show distance because the ray moves quickly.

Robot
This is the sound of a robot processing something. It was made by whistling into the microphone.

Saliva Monster
For this sound, we filled a zip-lock bag with air and shook it around. It’s the sound of some alien or monster salivating.

Siren
To make this noise you cup your hands around a harmonica and inhale gently. If a character was to be shell shocked, stunned, hit in the head, or is waking up, they would hear this for a faded alarm. It sounds a little distorted and far away.

Tinkering
This is the sound of some kind of tinkering, involving metal tools on gears. It was created by scratching two quarters together.

This project is not to be considered in my application.
